The Foundation
Textured Hair By Tammilka was born from my own journey of learning to love and care for my coily, kinky, tight, curly, textured hair. After years of trial, error, and frustration in salons that didn’t understand my texture, I committed myself to mastering the science and art of textured hair care.
Growing up watching my grandparents, my grandmother, aunties, and cousins braid hair around me inspired me to step into the hairdressing industry and turn that love into my craft. I went on to study at Biba Academy, one of the prestigious hairdressing schools in Melbourne, Victoria.
over the years I have worked hands-on with a wide range of all types of hair but manly curls, coils, and textures, determined to create a space where every client feels seen, understood, and celebrated. This foundation is what guides every service, every consultation, and every curl that sits in my chair.

I am committed to delivering a premium, luxury experience at my home studio, focusing on long-term hair health, integrity, and shine.
Cinematic Textures: Movie & Film Work
Outside the salon, I translate my deep knowledge of coils and curls to the Australian film and television world. Working efficiently in fast-paced production sets, I partner with creative departments to ensure aesthetic perfection for acclaimed projects like The Bear, La Brea, and Ricky Stanicky. My diverse portfolio includes work on The Addition, War Machine, and All Her Fault, where I contribute to the narrative through hair design. I offer specialized attention to every individual on camera, from lead stars to background performers in productions such as Insidious, Hook Turn, and Fog City. I am driven by creating genuine, high-definition looks that honor natural textures while fulfilling the director’s creative intent. If you need an expert who masters the nuances of textured hair for an entire cast, I am the partner you seek.
